New Delhi: The NCP (SP) got a resounding success in the Lok Sabha polls by winning eight out of 10 seats. Now, Sharad Pawar is touring the State ahead of the State Assembly polls.

Many aspirants are beelining to contest from the NCP (SP). Now, Sharad Pawar will make another move to shock Ajit Pawar. In the petition filed before the Supreme Court, Sharad Pawar has demanded that the NCP (AP) should be given another symbol before the State Assembly polls.

Sharad Pawar’s lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi has requested the bench for an urgent hearing on the issue. His request has been granted and a hearing will be conducted on September 25. This has added to the woes of the NCP (AP).

If the SC bench gives a positive direction on the NCP (SP) request, Ajit Pawar may lose the ‘clock’ symbol. The NCP (SP) tried to raise the matter twice earlier. However, the court did not respond positively to them. Earlier, the Election Commission granted the trumpeter symbol to the NCP (SP) before the Lok Sabha elections.

Moreover, the court also allowed the party to use the name NCP – Sharadchandra Pawar (SP). Contesting on the new symbol and name of the party, the NCP (SP) won big. On the other hand, the NCP (AP) had the original ‘clock’ symbol but faced a crushing defeat in the Lok Sabha elections.
