NCP gets Poll Battle ready; State President Sunil Tatkare leads ‘Signature Campaign’ in Pune, thousands participate ¬
Pune: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) State President Sunil Tatkare today participated in a ‘signature campaign’ in Pune. President of the NCP State Women’s wing Rupali Chakankar was also present at the event. Thousands of people signed the white canvas which read – ‘I support the Majhi Ladki Bahin Scheme and want it to continue for next 5 years.’
Speaking at the event Sunil Tatkare highlighted Mahayuti government’s women centric welfare schemes, thanking everyone who participated in the campaign, he said “with schemes like Majhi Ladki Bahin Scheme, Free education to girls and Lek Ladki Bahin Scheme, government is making efforts to empower the women of the state.” He added “Ajit Dada, along with Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde, and Aditi Tatkare, introduced a groundbreaking scheme after a girl took her own life because her parents couldn’t pay 50% of her fees. Now, for families earning up to ₹8 lakh annually, the state government through Mulina Mofat Shikshan Yojana will cover their daughters’ higher education costs.”
Over the past few days, frontal organizations including the youth and women wing of the party have been actively undertaking various unique programmes to connect with the voters. Youth leader Suraj Chavan has held the signature campaign at various constituencies in the state. Today, he led the campaign in Vadgaon Sheri assembly, which was also attended by the MLA Sunil Tingre, Pune City President Deepak Mankar, and Pune Youth City President Sameer Chandere. A white colored flex banner was placed outside the various mandals across the constituency where people in large numbers signed in support of continuing the scheme.
On September 11, Suraj Chavan organized another Signature Campaign at various locations in Pimpri assembly constituency. Earlier, on September 05th Maharashtra Women Commission Chairperson and President of NCP State Women Wing Rupali Chakankar also organized this campaign in Pune.
Deputy CM Ajit Pawar who is also the finance minister of the state, introduced the ambitious Majhi Ladki Bahin Scheme in this year’s budget which provides financial assistance of Rs 1500 to women. The scheme has received overwhelming support from women; over 1.6 crore beneficiaries have already received the instalment of the scheme.
Other frontal organizations including students wing, cultural wing, social justice wing and minorities wing of the party have also been tasked with organizing this campaign at various assembly constituencies in the state. Sunil Tatkare also appealed to people to support the party in the upcoming assembly elections.
