No scrutiny of applications under Ladki Bahin Yojana: Aditi Tatkare

Mumbai: Doubts were raised about continuation of the Ladki Bahin Yojana after the Maha Yuti came to power in the State.
It was said that many applications could be cancelled after a scrutiny. Refuting any such plan, NCP (AP) MLA and former Minister Aiditi Tatkare clarified that scrutiny of application would not be conducted.
She said, “We do not intend to scrutinise any of the beneficiaries under the Ladki Bahin Yojana. Discussions about scrutiny are false. Because we have implemented the scheme very systematically. Over 2.40 crore women are beneficiaries under it. We have included them after scrutinising their applications.”
Scrutiny after a complaint
Tatkare said, “Scrutiny is done after a complaint. We did not receive a single complaint when I was the Women and Child Development Minister. I do not know if complaints were lodged afterwards. Scrutiny would be done only if complaints are lodged. There would be no large-scale scrutiny.”
Devendra Fadnavis’s comment on scrutiny
After swearing in as the Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis commented on the Ladki Bahin Yojana. He said, “The Ladki Bahin Yojana will not be withdrawn. It will continue in the future. The instalment will be increased up to Rs 2,100. It can be considered at the time of State Budget. Such decisions are made after considering all financial sources available to the State Government. Proper decisions will be taken.
“Rs 2,100 will be given. We will fulfil the promises made to the people before the elections. We will make provisions for the same. All those who are fulfilling the criteria will get the benefit. Nobody will be deprived. We will not review all applications.”
