Pimpri: Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey Initiates MCOCA Action Against Rohit Dhanve Gang
Pimpri / Pune: The Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey cracks down under the MCOCA Act against the notorious criminal Rohit Dhanve gang, who have created terror in the areas of Pimpri, Nehrunagar, and Khandewasti, committing crimes like extortion and forced theft.
The criminals who are booked in the latest action have been identified as Rohit Pravin Dhanve (age 21, a resident of Nehrunagar, Pimpri), Sagar Ashok Pandit (age 25, a resident of Khandewasti, MIDC Bhosari), and Dilip alias Paji alias Sardar Indrajeet Chauhan (a resident of Nehrunagar, Pimpri).
A few days ago, Rohit Dhanve and his accomplices came on a motorcycle and abused Vinod Vishwakarma, the shopkeeper of the Scrap Centre shop in Khandewasti, and extorted money from him. After that, the shopkeeper was severely injured by hitting stones on his head. The accused then took 22 thousand rupees from the shopkeeper’s pocket and absconded from the scene.
In this regard, the Bhosari MIDC police have taken four accused into custody, including one minor. As per the police information, the Rohit Dhanve gang has created terror in Khandewasti, Nehrunagar, and Pimpri areas. Rohit Dhanve himself is accused in three cases. Because of their terror, no one was coming ahead and registering complaints against them.
The primary investigation into the case has been done by Police Sub-Inspector Santosh Ingle under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Vinoy Kumar Choubey, Joint Commissioner of Police Shashikant Mahavarkar, Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr Shivaji Pawar, Assistant Commissioner of Police Sachin Hire, and Senior Police Inspector Ganesh Jamadar.
