Pimpri Police Crack Down on Shop for Copyright Violation, Seize Counterfeit Goods Worth Rs. 27.5 Lakh

Pune: In a significant operation on Thursday evening, Pimpri police raided a shop in Pimpri for violating copyright laws, seizing counterfeit goods valued at Rs. 27,51,600. The raid was conducted following a complaint by Sandeep Harish Gidwani, 41, a resident of Andheri West, Mumbai.

The complaint was lodged against Virendra Ramlakhan Yadav, 40, of Shastrinagar, Pimpri, who was running Krishna Cosmetic Shop on River Road, Pimpri. Yadav was found selling counterfeit products of foreign companies, violating copyright and trademark laws.

Gidwani, an employee of Shimmers Cosmetics Pvt. Ltd., is authorised to take legal action against copyright and trademark infringements involving his company. He informed the Pimpri police after discovering that Krishna Cosmetic Shop was manufacturing and selling counterfeit products of Floractive and Luxliss companies.

Acting on this information, Police Inspector Dhananjay Kapre and his team raided the shop. The police seized a significant quantity of counterfeit products, including Floractive W One shampoo, Three in One conditioner, Nano plastic Treatment Box, Luxliss Keratin Shampoo, Luxliss Keratin Treatment Box, Luxliss Keratin Conditioner, empty bottles with Floractive company stickers, Luxliss company stickers, seven paper sheets with the companies’ logos, and two paper sheets with fake barcodes. The total value of the seized items was Rs. 27,51,600.

Police Inspector Dhananjay Kapre is leading the ongoing investigation into this case.
