Police Sub-Inspector on New Year bandobast duty dies in accident
Chakan: A Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) serving in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police died after getting seriously injured in an accident while he was on bandobast duty for New Year.
PSI Jitendra Girnar attached with the Mahalunge MIDC Police Station received serious injuries in the accident and died during treatment later.
PSI Girnar was patrolling in the Chakan MIDC area on New Year eve. He ensured that no untoward incident happened during the celebrations.
He was driving his car in front of Mahindra company when a container was coming in the right-side lane. However, the container suddenly entered the left-side lane and hit PSI Girnar’s car, in which the police officer was injured seriously. He was shifted to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to the injuries.
