Pune: 23-Year-Old Newly Married Woman Committed Suicide Frustrating Harassment at In-Law’s House
Pune: A shocking incident has come to light in Mahalunge, where a married woman committed suicide by hanging herself after being fed up of the harassment at her in-law’s house. The deceased woman has been identified as Asawari Akshay Dalvi (age 23, a resident of Leonara Society, Godrej, Mahalunge).
In this case, Hinjewadi police booked Akshay Arvind Dalvi (age 27, a resident of Bhosalemala, Ayodhya Nagari Society, Satara), Pushpa Arvind Dalvi (age 45), and Pradnya Rajesh Shirke (age 34, a resident of Nerul, Navi Mumbai) on the complaint of Asawari’s mother.
According to the information given by the police, the daughter of the plaintiff, Asawari, got married to Akshay Dalvi in December 2023. As per the complaint, within a few days after the wedding, her in-laws and her husband started harassing her mentally, physically, and financially over the reason that her parents did not give her enough jewellery at the wedding and over other domestic reasons.
Tired of this harassment, Asawari committed suicide by hanging herself in the house in Leonara Society on August 17. After completing her last rituals, her mother has now filed a complaint at Hinjewadi police station against Asawari’s mother-in-law and husband. Assistant Police Inspector Jadhav is conducting further investigation into the case.
