Pune: 24 assault wounds, two bullets in Vanraj Andekar’s body: Post-mortem report
Pune: NCP (AP) former corporator was killed in a firing and a sickle attack in Nana Peth on Sunday (September 1). It is said that the murder was a result of a family and property dispute.
The police have arrested 15 people, including history sheeter Somnath Sayaji Gaikwad, Sanjivani Komkar (Vanraj’s sister), Ganesh Komkar (Vanraj’s brother-in-law), Ganesh’s brother and Aniket Dudhbhate. Three minors were also detained.
Five empty cartridges were recovered from the spot. It was not known how many rounds of bullet were fired at him. Primary medical report stated that he received 14 wounds in the assault.
The post-mortem report states that two bullets hit him while he got 24 wounds. Of the two bullets, one hit his nose and another his throat.
