Frustrated with the continuous assault and mental torture from his stepfather, a 30-year-old young man has committed suicide by hanging himself in the house. The name of the young man who committed suicide is Sandeep, alias Shabbir Ibrahim Sheikh (age 30, a resident of Laxmi Nagar, Kondhwa Budruk).

The maternal aunt of the deceased young man, Sangeeta Raju Bagwe (age 51, a resident of Lohiya Nagar, Ganj Peth), has lodged a complaint in this regard at the Kondhwa Police Station. Accordingly, a case has been registered against Vijay Sumatrao Kasote (a resident of Laxmi Nagar, Kondhwa).

This incident took place on the evening of October 3, 2024, at Laxmi Nagar in Kondhwa. Astonishingly, after 3 months of continuous follow-up by the complainant in this case, finally, police have registered a complaint in this case today.

According to the information given by the police in this regard, the complainant’s sister has had two marriages. The plaintiff’s sister has a son named Shabbir from her first marriage. Initially, Shabbir was living with the plaintiff. However, when he grew up, he went to live with his mother.

Plaintiff informed that Shabbir was working as a plumber. However, his stepfather, Vijay Kasote, was continuously harassing and assaulting Shabbir. Further, Kasote was mentally torturing Shabbir by filing false complaints against him with the police. Tired of this harassment, Shabbir committed suicide by hanging himself on October 3 this year.

Upon receiving information about Shabbir’s suicide, the complainant went to his house. At that time, Shabbir’s body was being taken to Sassoon Hospital in an ambulance for an autopsy. While going through the ambulance, the complainant found a note in Shabbir’s pocket. In it, he wrote that he was committing suicide due to mental harassment by his stepfather.

His relatives said that the police did not check the clothes of the deceased Shabbir during the panchnama. Assistant Police Inspector Vikas Babar is investigating further in this case.
