Pune: 328 cadets are passing out from NDA ! UPSC Chairman Dr. Ajay Kumar Addresses NDA Convocation; Urges Cadets to Lead as Scholar-Warriors in a Rapidly Changing Security Environment

Pune, Saturday, 29 November 2025: The Convocation Ceremony of the 149th Course of the National Defence Academy (NDA) was held at Habibullah Hall on 29 November 2025. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. Ajay Kumar, Chairman, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

The Chief Guest was received by Vice Admiral Anil Jaggi, Commandant, NDA.

Dr. Vinay Deep, Officiating Principal, NDA, presented the Academic Report of the Autumn Term 2025, highlighting the academic achievements and milestones of the term.

In his Convocation Address, Dr. Ajay Kumar congratulated the cadets of the passing-out course for the successful completion of their rigorous and demanding training at one of the world’s premier tri-services military academies. He also expressed his sincere appreciation to the parents and families for motivating their wards to join this prestigious institution and serve the nation.

A total of 328 cadets are passing out from NDA in this course. Of these, 216 cadets were conferred the Bachelor’s Degree of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), which includes:
• 72 cadets in the Science Stream
• 92 cadets in the Computer Science Stream
• 52 cadets in the Arts Stream

Additionally, 18 cadets from Friendly Foreign Countries were also awarded degrees during the ceremony, reflecting India’s strong defence cooperation and training partnerships.

Furthermore, 112 cadets of the B . Tech Stream (Navy and Air Force) received their three-year course completion certificates. These Naval and Air Force cadets will be conferred their B . Tech degrees upon completion of one more year of training at their respective pre commissioning academies the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, and the Air Force Academy, Hyderabad.

The Convocation Ceremony reflected the NDA’s continued commitment to academic excellence and the holistic development of future leaders of the Indian Armed Forces.

Cadet KARTIK MAHESHWARI of ‘M’ Sqn stood first in the Science Stream with an FGPA of 8.11 and was awarded the Commandant’s Silver Medal and COAS Rolling Trophy presented by General K Sunderji, PVSM (Retd).

Cadet ANANYA of ‘G’ Sqn stood first in the Computer Science Stream with an FGPA of 8.36 and was awarded Commandant’s Silver Medal and the Admiral’s Rolling Trophy presented by Admiral Sureesh Mehta, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, Chief of Naval Staff.

Cadet ANURAG GUPTA of ‘B’ Sqn stood first in the Social Science Stream with an FGPA of 7.44 and was awarded Commandant’s Silver Medal and as well as the CAS Trophy presented by Air Chief Marshal NC Suri, PVSM, AVSM, VM (Retd).

 Cadet VISHWESH BHALERAO of ‘F’ Sqn stood first in the B. Tech Stream in the six semester training at NDA with an CGPA of 8.05 and was presented the  Commandant’s Silver Medal and CISC Trophy presented by HQ IDS.
