Pune: ACB Files Case Against Ex-Slum Rehabilitation Deputy CEO Shirish Yadav for Possessing Illegal Property Worth Crores

Pune:
In a significant action, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) department has registered a case against Shirish Ramchandra Yadav, the then Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Slum Rehabilitation Department, for illegally possessing property worth crores of rupees more than his known income. It has been found in the investigation that Shirish Yadav had possessed an illegal income of Rs 1,38,74,044 above his known income.
In this case, ACB has also filed a complaint against his wife, Pratiksha Shirish Yadav. Additional Superintendent of Police Dr. Shital Janve/Kharade of the ACB has lodged a complaint at Bundgarden Police Station in this regard. Notably, Shirish Yadav was earlier suspended in the Kothrud TDR case when he was Deputy Commissioner of the Pune Municipal Corporation.
The investigation against Yadav’s illegal income began when he was serving as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Slum Rehabilitation Department. During this examination period, Yadav did not satisfactorily explain or give an account of the illegal wealth in his possession despite being given a sufficient and reasonable opportunity.
Further, police found that the property acquired by him is inconsistent with the amount of income from his known sources. Therefore, the police accused him of illegally acquiring assets amounting to Rs 1,38,74,044, which is 20.34 percent of his total property.
Police further said that as he was encouraged by his wife Pratiksha Yadav in this case, a complaint has also been registered against her. Deputy Superintendent of Police Anil Katke is investigating further in this case.
