Pune ACB Nabs Two Police Officials While Demanding Bribe of Rs 35 Thousand to Settle Criminal Offence
Pune: In a significant action, the Pune Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) red-handedly detained an Assistant Police Sub-Inspector and a Police Ammaldar by setting a trap while taking a bribe to aid the person in the criminal offence.
The arrested police officers have been identified as Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Sunil Tulsidas Magar (age 55) and Police Ammaldar Sagar Kailas Gadekar (age 34).
As per the police information, a criminal case has been registered against the complainant at Vadgaon Maval Police Station. To aid the plaintiff in this case, Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Sunil Magar, who was heading the investigation in that case, and Police Ammaldar Sagar Gadekar demanded a bribe of Rs 50 thousand from the complainant.
Accordingly, the plaintiff gave a complaint about it to the Anti-Corruption Bureau. This complaint was then verified by the ACB team on Wednesday. After the negotiation, it was decided to pay Rs 35 thousand to police officers. After that, a trap was laid in the new building of Vadgaon Maval Police Station, and Sunil Magar and Sagar Gadekar were caught while accepting Rs 35 thousand from the complainant.
This action was carried out under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Shirish Sardeshpande and Additional Superintendent of Police Dr. Sheetal Janve. The complaint has been registered against both the accused at Vadgaon Maval police station, and Police Inspector Shriram Shinde is investigating further in this case.
