Pune: Accused in professor’s daughter rape case are well connected, trustees trying to suppress case: Ravindra Dhangekar
Pune: Four persons raped a minor collegian in a renowned institution in the city after befriending her on social media. They called her to meet and later, took her to different places and sexually assaulted her. The case was detected four months after the incident took place.
MLA Ravindra Dhangekar has written a letter to the Pune Police in this regard and has made shocking revelations. “The victim is a professor’s daughter. The professor complained to the trustees but they tried to suppress the matter as the culprits are children of big shots,” he alleged.
One of the assailants is the son of a Deputy Collector. Dhangekar alleged that the government officer has financial dealings with the trustees. Therefore, the victim’s father is being pressured by the trustees to save the influential officer’s son. The role of the trustees and college administration officials is suspicious.
Dhangekar has posted the letter on X. He has sought to know if the college has put pressure on the victim’s father; if the culprits from influential families are being shielded. Dhangekar has demanded a thorough probe into the matter.
