Pune: Accused Raped Minor Girl Luring Marriage, Threatened to Kill Her Brother

In a shocking incident, an individual had been sexually assaulting a girl since she had been a minor by threatening to viral private photos between them. Further, to talk again with the girl, the individual kidnapped the girl’s younger brother from the house. In this regard, a 19-year-old girl lodged a complaint at Yerawada Police Station.

Accordingly, the police have registered a case against Asif Salim Sheikh (a resident of Nagpur Chawl, Yerawada) under the Atrocities Act and the POCSO Act. This incident has been taking place since November 1, 2022, in Nagpur Chawl, Yerawada.

As per the police information, the plaintiff was going for a beauty parlour course. At that time, she came in contact with the cousin of her friend on Instagram. After some chatting between them, both fell in love with each other. However, when the plaintiff was 16 years of age, the accused took her to his house in Nagpur Chawl and kept forceful physical relations with her, promising marriage.

After that, he was regularly assaulting her sexually by promising marriage and by threatening to viral private photos between them. Frustrated with this regular harassment, the plaintiff broke all contact with the accused and blocked him on all social media.

After that, when the complainant was walking home from the Lohegaon bus stop on February 3, Asif suddenly came towards her on a two-wheeler and brought the complainant’s 7-year-old brother with him on the bike.

At that time, the plaintiff’s brother informed her that Asif forcibly brought him there. After that, the accused threatened the plaintiff to kill her brother if she did not talk with him and unblock him again. Frightened by this incident, the plaintiff then lodged a police complaint against the accused at the Lohegaon police station. Senior Police Inspector Ravindra Shelke is investigating the case further.
