Pune Anti-Extortion Cell Nab Two From Uttam Nagar and Shivane; Recover Pistols and Live Cartridges in Anti-Extortion Sweep

In a significant action, the Pune Anti-Extortion Cell has conducted two separate operations in Pune city on the same day, seizing 2 pistols and 2 live cartridges from two accused. In this case, police also arrested Rahul Krishna Gaikwad (age 38, a resident of Indra Vasahat, NDA Road, Uttam Nagar) and Yuvraj Lekraj Varma (age 29, a resident near Gosal Chawl, Uttam Nagar).
The anti-extortion cell officers and Ammaldar were patrolling in the Uttam Nagar area. At this time, police constable Rajendra Landge and Amol Awad got the news that an individual was carrying an illegal pistol with him. Accordingly, the police arrested Rahul Krishna Gaikwad from the area. During his subsequent frisk, the police found one pistol and one live cartridge worth Rs 35,100 in his possession. The police immediately arrested him, and Assistant Police Inspector Abhijit Patil is investigating further in this case.
Meanwhile, the anti-extortion cell also arrested Yuvraj Varma from the Shivane area based on a tip-off received by Police Constable Rajendra Landge and Police Ammaldar Mayur Bhokare. During the search, police seized goods worth Rs 35 thousand 100, including one pistol and one live cartridge from him. This crime is being investigated by Assistant Police Inspector Vijaykumar Shinde.
