Pune: Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Sunil Tambe transferred to Special Branch

Pune: Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP – Crime Branch) Sunil Tambe, who played a major role as the Investigation Officer (IO) in some major crimes in the city, has been transferred to the Special Branch. Commissioner of Police (CP) Amitesh Kumar issued the order of Tambe’s transfer on Tuesday.
ACP (Wanawadi Division) Ganesh Ingle will succeed ACP Tambe. ACP (Hadapsar Division) Ashwini Rakh will handle the additional charge of the Wanwadi Division.
ACP Tambe was appointed at the Crime Branch 1 on July 3, 2023. He will retire from the police force within a few months. However, he has been transferred to the Special Branch. ACP Tambe was the IO in the drug mafia Lalit Patil escape case, Sharad Mohol murder case and the hit-and-run, Kalyani Nagar case.
