Pune: Banner on rising crimes in Kothrud grabs citizens’ attention (Video)

Pune: Criminal incidents are rising in Kothrud, which is otherwise a peaceful and prominent neighbourhood. Local residents are worried due to some serious crimes in the past week.
Now, residents expressed their anger by raising banners to save Kothrud from criminal elements. A banner says: ‘Save Kothrud from becoming another Beed, our Kothrud was never like this before’.
Locality shaken
Various crimes took place in the past couple of weeks in Kothrud. They included thefts, attacks and murder. This indicates the changing social and cultural face of the locality.
Recently, a follower of Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol was beaten up, which disturbed political circles. A youth was killed later. Citizens are worried about their safety and security.
Demand of local residents
Kothrud is known as a locality where highly educated and eminent people stay. However, residents are worried due to rising crimes in the area. They demanded that the police should take stringent steps and curb such offences. Kothrud should be made secure again.

Citizens have raised banners expressing their anger over the situation. A banner says: ‘Save Kothrud from going Beed way’. Below it is written: ‘Who is responsible for this’.
Citizens mean that they do not want Kothrud to become another Beed. They fear that if the police do not take timely action, the situation may worsen.
