Pune: Bapusaheb Pathare files nomination amidst show of strength
Pune: NCP (SP) candidate and former MLA from Vadgaon Sheri Bapusaheb Pathare filed his nomination papers on Monday.
He staged a march across the Vadgaon Sheri constituency amidst a show of strength. Earlier, he addressed the media. Pathare said, “People are fed up with civic issues. Therefore, they will elect me this time to change the picture. I do not face any challenge from any other candidate from the constituency.”
This segment is much talked about. There are IT companies and developed pockets, including Lohegaon, Kharadi and parts of Wagholi, Yerwada, Vishrantwadi and Chandan Nagar. Former NCP MLA Pathare has been given the candidature by the NCP (SP). He has a firm grip over his constituency. He started off as the Sarpanch of Kharadi and went on to become an MLA.
Pathare has also served the people as a Panchayat Samiti member, a ZP member and as a corporator. He was the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the PMC. He was elected as an MLA in 2009. Later, he kept away from electoral politics after entering the BJP. But he has joined the NCP (SP) again.
He is contesting for the second time and facing rival faction NCP (AP) candidate and sitting MLA Sunil Tingre.
NCP (SP) announces the third list of candidates
The NCP (SP) announced the third list of its candidates. Party State President Jayant Patil published it in a press conference. Names of nine candidates have been declared.
The NCP (SP) candidates and their constituencies are as follows: Dnyayak Patni (Karanja), Atul Vandile (Hinganghat), Ramesh Bang (Hingna), Fahad Ahmad (Anushakti Nagar), Rahul Kalate (Chinchwad), Ajit Gavhane (Bhosari), Mohan Jagtap (Majalgaon), Rajesaheb Deshmukh (Parali) and Siddhi Kadam (Mohol).
