Pune: BJP MLA Madhuri Misal files nomination, aspirant Rajendra Shilimkar stays away
Pune: BJP MLA Madhuri Misal filed her nomination papers from the Parvati Assembly constituency on Tuesday (October 29). Earlier, she visited the Sarasbaug Ganpati Mandir and the Mahalaxmi Mandir in the Sarasbaug area.
Later, she paid tributes at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj memorial, Market Yard; Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar memorial, Anna Bhau Sathe memorial, Swatantryaveer Savarkar memorial and Ahilyadevi Holkar memorial.
Speaking on the occasion Madhuri Misal said, “The BJP leadership has shown trust in me for the fourth consecutive term. I am confident that I will win with a huge margin due to the development work done in the past 15 years. I have also tried to make people aware of various government schemes and have helped them avail themselves of their benefits.”
However, BJP leader and party’s city General Secretary Rajendra Shilimkar stayed away. He was an aspirant for the party ticket from the constituency. It is said that he is unhappy with the party. Various reasons are forwarded for his absence. People are speaking in a hush-hush tone that Shilimkar’s displeasure may hit the party on November 20.
