Pune: Brutal Weapon Attack Leaves One Injured in Mangalwar Peth; Police Arrest One

In a shocking incident, nine to ten members of the Andekar Gang injured a 26-year-old individual by attacking him with sharp weapons. In this attack, the injured individual received major injuries and has been hospitalised for further treatment. Faraskhana police arrested one individual and registered a complaint against his accomplices.

The injured individual has been identified as Vaibhav Chandrakant Gangne, a resident of Sumit Heights, Kasba Peth. In this case, Rishabh Devdutt Andekar has been arrested by police, and a complaint has been filed against Ganesh Ashok Vaddu, Aayush Bidkar, Jayesh Lokhande, Pankaj Waghmare, and seven to eight other individuals.

As per the police information, all the accused are members of the Andekar gang, which has been notoriously involved in various criminal activities in the city. The complaint stated that the plaintiff had an argument with one of the accused. Harbouring that anger, the accused targeted the plaintiff and his friend on Monday midnight, when both were passing from the Mangalwar Peth area.

The complaint further stated that the accused stopped the accused in the road and abused him, which resulted in the fierce altercation between them. Meanwhile, all the accomplices of the accused stepped in and injured the plaintiff and his friend with sharp weapons.

On getting information about the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police Crime Branch Amol Zende and Assistant Commissioner of Faraskhana Division Sainath Thombare visited the spot. Further investigation is being conducted by Police Sub-Inspector Jadhav.
