Pune: A construction worker was killed after falling from the seventh floor of the under-construction building, Vrundavan Bliss in Baner.

The worker lost his life because safety measures were not in place at the project. The victim has been identified as Ajit Varunlal Baghel (25). The developer, contractor, site engineer and project manager have been booked for death due to negligence.

The developer has been identified as Uttam Ramnikbhai Makwana. PSI Shivaji Adinath Rahigude, attached with the Baner Police Station, lodged a complaint in this connection.

According to the details, the victim hailed from Jharkhand. He worked on the construction site for the past one year. He was working on the seventh floor of Vrindavan Bliss at 10.30 am on Tuesday (November 10). He lost balance while working and fell on the ground.

PSI Rupesh Cholke said, “Safety measures such as safety nets and other safety protocols were not observed at the construction site. Therefore, the fatal accident took place.”

Fatal accidents of construction workers rose in the past few years due to negligence shown by developers. Safety rules should be followed to avoid accidents on construction sites. However, the site in Baner and many such projects have failed to provide safety measures.
