Pune: Bundgarden Police Recover 51 Stolen Mobile Phones Worth Rs 5 Lakh

Pune: In a commendable effort, the Bundgarden Police have recovered 51 mobile phones, valued at approximately Rs 5 lakh, stolen from various crowded areas of the city, such as Pune Railway Station, ST Bus Stand, Pune Collector Office, and Sassoon Hospital. These stolen mobile phones had been reported as missing on the Pune Police’s Lost and Found website.

Complaints regarding lost and stolen mobile phones were filed on the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) website, run by the Department of Telecommunications, Central Government. Acting on these complaints, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar ordered an investigation to track down the missing mobile phones.

As part of the inquiry, a specialised cyber team from Bundgarden Police Station, including Police Sub-Inspector Parameshwar Garkal, Police Naik Vishnu Sarawade, Police Ammaldar Sagar Ghorpade, and Nilesh Palve, worked diligently to trace the phones. Using IMEI numbers and tracking the devices through SDR and their last known locations, the team successfully recovered 51 stolen mobile phones.

Police informed that the total value of the recovered phones stands at approximately Rs 5 lakh, and efforts to recover more stolen phones are ongoing.

This action was taken by the team of Police Sub-Inspector Parameshwar Garkal, Police Ammaldar Vishnu Sarawade, Sagar Ghorpade, Nilesh Palve, Shashank Khade, Prasad Pawar, Dnyaneshwar Gaikwad, and Vishal Jadhav under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Police Pravinkumar Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police Smartana Patil, Assistant Commissioner of Police Deepak Nikam, Senior Police Inspector of Bundgarden Police Station Ravindra Gaikwad, and Crime Inspector Sampatrao Raut.
