Pune: CBI to investigation against DCP Bhagyashree Navtake in BHR credit bank fraud
Pune: Investigation into the case filed against the then DCP Bhagyashree Navtake in the Bhaichand Hirachand Raisoni (BHR) credit cooperative bank fraud will be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
A proposal in this regard was approved by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, said sources.
Navtake was booked on the basis of a complaint lodged by main accused Sunil Zanwar and Kunal Shah with the Director General of Police (DGP). It is alleged that Navtake did not follow set procedures and registered cases hurriedly and intentionally. DCP (Crime Branch) Nikhil Pingale lodged a complaint at the Bund Garden Police Station.
According to the complaint, DCP Navtake has been booked. The probe into the case will be handed over to the CBI. The CM has also given his assent to proceed in the matter.
Cases were registered at three police stations in Pune district in 2020. In this backdrop, Zanwar and Shah lodged a complaint with the DGP. It was examined by senior officials from the DGP’s office. An inquiry report was then sent to the State Home Department by the DGP on February 19, 2024.
