Pune: Celebration of Annabhau Sathe’s Birth Anniversary Sparks Supremacy Clash in Gultekdi; Police Arrest One for Attempted Murder

Believing that the young man was challenging his supremacy in the area by hosting a grand celebration for Annabhau Sathe’s birth anniversary, an individual attempted to murder him by stabbing in the head with a scissor. This incident took place in Industrial Estate in Gultekdi on Thursday at 11:15 p.m.

In this case, Swargate police arrested Shakir Mehbub Shaikh (age 43, a resident of Industrial Estate, Gultekdi) on the complaint of Atish Satish Adagale (age 29, a resident of Industrial Estate, Gultekdi).

In this regard, police informed that on Thursday night, the plaintiff was standing on the road while talking with his sister. At that time, the accused had gone towards him and said, “You celebrated Annabhau Sathe’s Jayanti in big fervour. Have you become a big leader? What is your worth?”. After that, the accused stabbed the plaintiff with a scissor in his hand. The accused injured the plaintiff by stabbing him with the front side of the scissors.

When other people attempted to save the plaintiff, the accused threatened them with similar assault and further injured the plaintiff. The accused further threatened people, saying, “If you tried to save him, I will also kill you. My brother is the don of this area.”

The plaintiff’s parents saved him and took him to the hospital for treatment. Police have arrested Shakir Shaikh, and Sub Inspector of Police Subhash Rathore is investigating further in the case.
