Pune: “Charholi’s New IT Park to Create 50,000 Jobs, Boost Local Economy”
Pune: A new Information Technology Park is being developed at Charholi Budruk as part of the state’s Information Technology and IT Support Services Policy. The IT Park, being established through Pride World City, is expected to create 50,000 job opportunities.
The foundation stone for the first IT Park at Pride World City was laid by MLA Mahesh Landge and Arvind Jain of CREDAI, with builders from the city also in attendance. Another IT Park is planned for Pimpri-Chinchwad, which has gained a reputation as an Industrial City, Auto Hub, and IT Hub. This development follows a meeting with CREDAI and municipal authorities in October 2023.
Landge noted that since the BJP came to power in the municipal corporation, the development of included villages has accelerated. Improvements in infrastructure, such as roads, water, electricity, and waste management, have contributed to rapid growth in the construction sector. The new IT policy aims to boost development in Charholi Budruk and create substantial investment and job opportunities in the IT and IT-enabled services sectors.
The policy focuses on expanding IT parks, IT products, innovative technologies, and integrated IT cities. It offers various benefits, including stamp duty exemptions, energy streamlining, property tax concessions, and market development assistance. The policy encourages the development of IT zones with a mix of IT and other uses on 10 acres of land.
The IT Park proposal at Charholi Budruk is awaiting approval. Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh stated that the proposal will be approved in accordance with the government’s policy once it is submitted.
