Pune: Country-made pistol and live cartridge seized from minor in Katraj area
Pune: The Bharati Vidyapeeth Police seized a country-made pistol and a live cartridge from a 17-year-old boy following a tip-off. The minor was involved in serious offences such as preparing for dacoity and fights.
The minor told the police that the arm was given to him by his deceased friend.
The investigation team of the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police was patrolling on April 29. Policemen Mitesh Chormale, Abhinay Choudhari and Sagar Borge received a tip-off that a minor was possessing a country-made pistol and was standing in front of Ratan Motors on the Katraj-Mangdewadi Road.
The police detained the minor from the spot. They seized the pistol worth Rs 50,000 and a cartridge from him. The minor was earlier involved in serious offences. He told the police that his deceased friend had given the arm to him.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of DCP Smartana Patil and ACP Rahul Aware. Sr PI Sawalaram Salgaonkar, PI Rahulkumar Khilare, PSI Nilesh Mokashi, police personnel Mitesh Chormale, Abhinay Choudhari, Sagar Borge, Kiran Sable, Sachin Sarpale, Mahesh Baravkar, Mangesh Pawar, Sachin Gade, Nilesh Khairmode, Tukaram Sutar and Sandeep Agale took part in it.
