Pune: The anti-robbery and vehicle theft squad of the crime branch apprehended the minor accused from the Warje Malwadi area and seized a total of eight vehicles from him. Police said that the minor accused stole a total of eight vehicles from Warje, Kothrud, Sinhagad Road, Yerawada, and Shikrapur areas.

In order to curb the increasing number of vehicle thefts in the city, the senior police officer gave instructions to police officials to carry out a special campaign to prevent vehicle theft. Accordingly, Police Ammaldar Saikumar Karke and his team were investigating these cases.

Meanwhile, Karke received a tip-off from his informant that the minor accused had stopped at Warje Malwadi in possession of the theft vehicle. Accordingly, the anti-robbery and vehicle theft squad of the crime branch reached the spot and detained the minor accused.

Upon further interrogation, the minor accused confessed that he had stolen eight vehicles from nearby areas. Accordingly, police recovered five two-wheelers and three auto-rikshaws, worth Rs 2.5 lakh, from him.

This action was taken by the team of Assistant Police Inspector Pravin Kalukhe, Police Constable Balu Gaikwad, Pradeep Rathod, Dhananjay Tajane, Ganesh Dhage, Police Naik Ravindra Lokhande, Police Ammaldar Saikumar Karke, Mahesh Patil, Shrikant Dagade, Shivaji Satpute, and Narayan Bankar.

In this action, the guidance of Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Police Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Commissioner of Police Nikhil Pingle, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ganesh Ingle, and Senior Police Inspector of Anti-Robbery and Vehicle Theft Squad Nand Kumar Bidwai also proved useful.
