Pune Crime Branch Nabs Fugitive Murderer After Nine Months of Evasion
Pune: The Crime Branch Unit 4 of Pune Police has successfully detained the murderer, who has been absconded from the police arrest for the last nine months.
The arrested accused has been identified as Om Ramchandra Gore (age 20), a resident of Jay Prakash Nagar, Yerawada. Om Gore has been accused of heinously killing Abhishek Rathod, a resident of Jay Prakash Nagar, Yerawada, on November 1, 2023. As per the police information, the murdered Abhishek Rathod was also a notorious criminal and had many complaints registered against him at the police station.
On November 1, 2023, Om Gore and his accomplices attacked Abhishek Rathod with a sharp weapon over an earlier animosity between them. In this attack, Abhishek Rathod was killed. After that, Pune police arrested many accused in regard to this case.
Parallelly, Unit 4 of the crime branch has been investigating a crime that took place in the Yerawada area. At that time, police official Rahul Pardeshi received a tip-off that accused Om Gore was standing on the footpath near Wadia Bungalow. Accordingly, police arrested him from there. At that time, Gore also confessed about his involvement in the crime.
This action was taken by the team of Police Inspector Ajay Waghmare, Police Sub Inspector Jaydeep Patil, Police Sub Inspector Vaibhav Magadum, Harish More, Pravin Bhalchim, Sanjay Adhari, Vishal Gade, Eknath Joshi, Nagesingh Kunwar, Vinod Mahajan, Jahangir Pathan, Vaibhav Ranpise, Rahul Pardeshi, Vishal Ithape, Devidas Vandhre, and Shital Shinde, under the guidance of Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Police Shailesh Balakawade, Deputy Commissioner of Police Amol Zende, and Assistant Police Commissioner Satish Govekar.
