Pune Crime News: Drugs Sold Under Cover of Prostitution! Sibling Duo Busted, Mastermind “Akka” Arrested

Pune: In a shocking revelation, the Anti-Narcotics Cell has uncovered a drug trafficking racket operating under the guise of prostitution in Budhwar Peth. A woman known as “Akka” was found to be supplying Mephedrone (MD) to sex workers and their clients. She has now been arrested.
The accused has been identified as Jyoti Sunil Yadav alias Kattimani (age 50, resident of Katraj). Police investigations revealed that she, along with her brother, was running the entire racket.
The operation began when the police caught Sharanappa Kattimani (age 34, resident of Katraj and originally from Gulbarga, Karnataka) in a Budhwar Peth alley while he was attempting to sell mephedrone. He was found in possession of 59 grams of MD worth approximately ₹12.12 lakh. During interrogation, he confessed that the drugs were supplied by his sister, Jyoti Yadav.
Further investigation revealed that Jyoti was the kingpin of the racket and had been selling MD drugs to sex workers and their clients in Budhwar Peth for the past two years.
The arrest was made under the guidance of Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner Ranjankumar Sharma, Additional CP Pankaj Deshmukh, DCP Nikhil Pingale, and ACP Rajendra Mulik.
The operation was carried out by PI Sudarshan Gaikwad, API Nitin Kumar Naik, PSI Asmita Lad, and constables Chetan Gaikwad, Sandeep Jadhav, Mayur Suryawanshi, Sahil Shaikh, Uday Rakshe, Sandeep Shelke, Azim Shaikh, Yogesh Mandhare, Yuvraj Kamble, Azad Patil, Neelam Patil, Disha Khevalkar, and Ravindra Rokade.
