Rahul Jadhav and Kunal Borade saw some movement in the darkness. They turned their torch in that direction and identified the wild animal. It was moving towards the security cabin along the wall. Later, it changed direction and moved on the wall.

The incident was immediately reported to Branch Engineer Viresh Raut. He arrived at the spot as he was staying on the dam office premises. Raut conveyed the matter to the Forest Department. Officials, staff and a rescue team of the Forest Department arrived at 11 pm and were watching the crocodile’s movement.

Raut said, “We often have to visit the spot to check the water level due to the rainy season. The crocodile was approaching the staffers, which is dangerous. Therefore, I asked the Forest Department officials to release it back into the reservoir.”
