Pune: Daylight Gambling Raid in Jambhulwadi: 17 Arrested, Goods Worth Rs 1.16 Lakh Seized

Currently, the model code of conduct is implemented in the entire state in the background of the assembly election. Therefore, the election and police personnel are having constant watch on all the illegal activities in the state. Therefore, to avoid constant raids by the police and the fear of being caught, many people in the city started gambling in the suburbs.
Similarly, a Teen Patti gambling was going on in daylight at the Mauli Building in Jambhulwadi village. Bharti Vidyapeeth Police received information about it, and they raided the premises. In this operation, police arrested 17 people and seized goods worth Rs 1 lakh 16 thousand 970 from them.
The names of the arrested individuals are Kiran Ganpat Dimbale (age 35, a resident of Parvati), Rohidas Balu Gorad (age 43, a resident of Parvati), Harshad Thorve (age 24, a resident of Shukrawar Peth), Datta Raghunath Jogi (age 32, a resident of Katraj), Bhikaji Kapure (age 63, a resident of Dhankawadi), Viraj Patil (age 45, a resident of Katraj), Munawar Wazir Sheikh (age 40, a resident of Katraj), Vasant Karsan Wagh (age 46, a resident of Shivne), Yogesh Ghumak (age 35, a resident of Sinhagad Road), Dharmendra Raghuni Singh (age 39, a resident of Hadapsar), Datta Vasant Sitap (age 52, a resident of Narhe), Rajesh Uttekar (age 53, a resident of Dhankawadi), Imran Dalal (age 36, a resident of Katraj), Laxman Mankar (age 53, a resident of Dhankawadi), Kishor Satpute (age 38, a resident of Dandekar Bridge), and Sahil Ibrahim (age 23, a resident of Dhankawadi).
The incident took place at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Mauli Building in Jambhulwadi.
Police informed that Kishor Satpute was running this gambling den, whereas Laxman Mankar had provided a place for the people to play Teen Patti gambling. Further, Ibrahim Sathi supplied gambling equipment and was supervising them.
After Bharti Vidyapeeth Police received information about the gambling, they raided the spot and seized a total of 1,16,620 rupees worth of goods, including 15 decks of cards, 17 mobile phones, and Rs 19,970 in cash. Police Sub-Inspector Mohan Kalamkar is investigating further in this case.
