With the state assembly elections scheduled for tomorrow, November 20, voting will commence at 7 a.m. across all polling stations. In preparation for polling day, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic Branch) Amol Zende has issued an order prohibiting vehicle parking within 200 meters of polling booths to ensure hassle-free access for voters and prevent traffic congestion.

The orders issued aim to facilitate smooth voter movement and prevent any inconvenience caused by vehicles’ traffic near polling stations. Officials have been instructed to arrange alternative parking spaces for voters beyond the 200-meter radius of polling centres.

The order further advises that in areas with limited parking facilities, vehicles should only be parked on one side of the road to avoid obstructing traffic flow. Parking on both sides of the road has been strictly prohibited. Authorities are required to ensure that voters can easily access polling stations without any hindrance.

The parking restrictions will be enforced from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, to cover the entire duration of the voting process.
