Pune: Decision about seat-sharing in Maha Vikas Aghadi soon: Sharad Pawar

Pune / Baramati: NCP (SP) President Sharad Pawar revealed the poll strategy of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) on Monday.
He said, “We are studying profiles of aspirants ahead of the State Assembly elections. Party State President Jayant Patil and a team of senior leaders will interview aspirants. Later, the list will be finalised. The NCP (SP), the Congress and the Shiv Sena (UBT) will contest the polls together. We will make a collective decision. We will have to arrive at a consensus on seats, where alliance partners have differences. The process is currently underway. We will try to complete the seat-sharing within 10 days.”
Pawar was speaking to the media at his residence Govindbaug here. He said, “It will not be appropriate to comment on the seat-sharing as the MVA is still to hold a meeting in this regard. At present, aspirants are meeting me everywhere I go. We have an alliance, we will fight together.”
Commenting on Arvind Kejriwal and newly sworn-in Delhi CM Atishi, Pawar said, “Kejriwal was working excellently. Their team was good. He was imprisoned in a particular situation. False cases were slapped against him.”
Speaking about the Maratha and Dhangar quota agitations, he said, “These issues need to be sorted out cordially. There should not be a reason for social tension. Though we belong to various castes and religions, we are also Indians, Maharashtrians. We should foster amity among various sections. Leaders of these communities should take this stand. The State Government should also take precaution to maintain a cordial atmosphere and take leaders of various communities into confidence.”
