Pune: ‘Nirbhay Bano’ meetings played an important role in persuading citizens’ opinion towards the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). In this backdrop, many democratic organisations and parties have demanded Nirbhay Bano meetings.

Nirbhay Nagrik Sabha (meetings) Coordinator Utpal Chandawar said that Nirbhay Bano meetings have been demanded from 71 places, including the constituencies represented by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, DyCM Devendra Fadnavis and DyCM Ajit Pawar.

Nirbhay Bano meetings were conducted at various places in the State before the Lok Sabha elections. The MVA gained from them.

Nirbhay Bano’s Dr Vishwambhar Chaudhary said, “Politics and politicians should be able to decide priorities of issues faced by society. Splurging money on show-off and advertisements is wrong. We made voters aware about this. During these elections, we will focus on issues related to agriculture, farm produce, prices, environment, health, education and law.”

Nirbhay Bano’s Adv Asim Sarode said, “We will extend conditional support to the MVA this time while conducting the Nirbhay Nagrik Sabha. The MVA should make it clear to the Nirbhay Bano team which projects they would carry out on priority if elected to power.”

Adv Sarode and Dr Chaudhary said, “We have not decided exactly how many meetings to conduct and where they will be held. But the response and demand from the people indicates that they themselves have taken the initiative to keep democracy alive.”

Utpal Chandawar said that Nirbhay Bano meetings have been demanded from the constituencies of CM Shinde, DyCM Fadnavis, DyCM Pawar, State Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar, Nitesh Rane, Girish Mahajan, Sudhir Mungantiwar, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Chandrakant Patil, Mangalprabhat Lodha, Chhagan Bhujbal, Tanaji Sawant, Dhananjay Munde, Shambhuraj Desai, Sanjay Rathod and Uday Samant.
