Pune:

On Sunday, November 24, a music concert of Indian singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh was organised in the Kakade Farm area of Kothrud. Interestingly, in spite of the local MLA and the former minister Chandrakant Dada Patil’s opposition to the program, the event still took place without any hitches. In this regard, Chandrakant Patil instructed the Police Commissioner and the Excise Department to cancel the event. However, the music concert still took place without much problem.

Diljit Dosanjh’s music concert was organised in the Kakade Farm area of Kothrud on November 24. More than 50 thousand people were expected to attend this program. However, considering the overall background of Diljit Dosanjh’s programs so far, local citizens had earlier opposed this program. Apart from this, various political parties and social organisations, including MNS and the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar), had strongly opposed this program and also warned of agitation to prevent this program from happening.

Notably, the local MLA and minister Chandrakant Dada Patil also opposed this event. He also instructed the administration to cancel the event. In this regard, Patil had said that if Diljit Dosanjh’s music concert was held in Kothrud, a big march would be taken out on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party, and he would personally lead this march.

Looking at the aggressive stance of Patil toward this event, it was expected that the event would be closed. However, to everyone’s surprise, the event still took place without any hindrance from the administration. However, citizens complained that the organisation of this event had caused a lot of traffic congestion in the area, causing inconvenience to the citizens.

Meanwhile, Charan Singh Rajput of the State Excise Pune Department has informed that the liquor license for the Diljit Dosanjh’s music concert was cancelled.
