Pune: Drunk Man Assaults Traffic Cop, Snatches Phone During Routine Check in Yerawada

In a shocking incident, the 29-year-old inebriated young man assaulted a traffic policeman when he asked him to stop during the road blockade for driving the car under the influence of alcohol. Further, the accused also forcibly grabbed the mobile phone of the policeman.
In this regard, Police Ammaldar Sandeep Hiraman Khandagale has filed a complaint at Yerawada Police Station. Accordingly, the police registered a case against Chirag Rajendra Mundada (age 29, a resident of Narayan Peth). This incident took place near the Bishop’s School, Kalyani Nagar, at 2 a.m. on Saturday.
As per the police information, the plaintiff and his colleagues were doing routine vehicle inspection work in the blockade at Kalyani Nagar area on Saturday night. At that time, Chirag Mundada came to the blockade site while driving the car under the influence of alcohol. Shockingly, when Mundada was asked by the plaintiff to stop, the accused assaulted the plaintiff.
Further, he pushed the plaintiff with his hand and grabbed his mobile phone. Therefore, a complaint has been registered against Mundada for driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol and for obstructing the government work. Assistant Police Inspector Lamkhede is investigating further in this case.
