Pune: RMD Foundation Vice-President Shobhatai Dhariwal has underlined the importance of various mantras in the Jain tradition. She emphasised that the environment should be preserved to save our planet earth.

She said, “Ordination and values have a long tradition of thousands of years in Jainism. There are many mantras (sacred chants) in the Jain religion. Sri Uvasaggaharam Stotra is one of them. It is believed to save one in crises. Shriman Rasiksheth Dhariwal Saheb was on a ventilator support in the hospital. Daily chanting of the Stotra, along with medical treatment, created positive vibrations and saved his life. This is my faith in the mantra. Therefore, I make it a point to organise the community recitation of the Stotra every year to create positivity in society. It is a social need to organise such events. Not only the Jains participate in the recitation but also a large number of non-Jains also take part in it and avail of its benefits. This is the ninth year of the programme. I welcome this huge gathering of people, who have come here voluntarily.”

The Rasiklal Manikchand Dhariwal (RMD) Foundation organised the community recitation of the Stotra. RMD Foundation is involved in social work in the fields of health, education and environment across India. Needy and meritorious students are awarded scholarships to pursue higher education. Critical vegetarian patients are given financial aid. Big, old trees are felled to make tar roads. Sapling plantation is not an effective way to mitigate such loss but replantation is very effective. In this backdrop, RMD Foundation President Janhavi Dhariwal Balan has undertaken a mission to save 50-100 years old trees. The foundation has successfully saved 2,100 such trees till date. Environment protection is needed to save the earth, appealed Shobhatai to the audience.

She also praised Punit Balan Group President Punit Balan for taking the lead to celebrate DJ-music free Dahi-Handi festival. She congratulated Janhavi Dhariwal Balan and Punit Balan, who have taken the responsibility to save the earth.

Sri Uvasaggaharam Stotra recitation was organised in the presence of Acharya Padmashri Chandanaji M.S., Pujya Shri Jayprabha Vijayji Gurudev M.S., Pujya Shri Agamchandraji Swami M.S. and Pujya Shri Mukesh Muniji M. S. on Sunday (August 17, 2025) at the Shriman Rasiklalji M Dhariwal Sthanak Bhavan Yash Lawns, Bibwewadi, Pune.

She has been contributing even today to the Sanstha’s valuable work in the fields of health services and education. I bless her to continue the good work.”
