Pune: The annual Ganesh Janma Sohala was celebrated with usual enthusiasm as per the traditional calendar on Magh Shuddha Chaturthi at the Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Trust’s Mandir. Various religious programmes such as Ganesh Yaag, the recitation of Atharvashirsh and singing of bhajans were held on the auspicious occasion.

The temple was attractively decorated with flowers on Ganesh Chaturthi. The Yaag was conducted at 7 am. The Saraswati Bhajani Mandal set the tone with devotional bhajans and made everyone present soak in ‘bhaktiras’.
The Atharvashirsh recitation was held between noon and 1 pm. Later in the evening, a Nagar Pradakshina (palanquin procession) was staged amidst chants of ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’ and showering of flowers.
Then Pune Mahanagar Sanghchalak Hon. Ravindra Wanjarwadkar performed a Maha Aarti of the deity. Trust President Sanjeev Javale, trustees, workers and devotees were present in a large number.

Mushak, the carrier of Ganpati, was attractively decorated at the Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Trust’s Mandir. Two Mushak idols on both sides of the deity, decorated with white jaswand flowers and rose petals, looked very attractive. The sunflower decoration next to them also caught devotees’ attention.
