Pune: Governor favours action against receiver and issuer of fake certificates
Pune: Governor Ramesh Bais has suggested action against those who issue fake certificates and those who receive them.
He said, “The special people should be made self-reliant to make the country Atmanirbhar. Organisations working for the special people will have to be vigilant so that able-bodied people do not procure the disability certificate through wrong means. Those who issue fake certificates and those who take them should face action.”
The Governor was speaking at the 16th foundation day of the Sarthak Education Trust that works for the empowerment of the special people. The function was held at the World Trade Center (WTC) in Mumbai. Former Union Secretary Lav Varma, SIDBI CEO Sandeep Varma, Sarthak Founder Dr Jitender Aggarwal, Sarthak Advisory Board Member Krishan Kalra and WTC President Vijay Kalantri were present. Governor Bais listed Sarthak as the no-profit organisation on the Social Stock Exchange of the National Stock Exchange on the occasion.
Bais said, “There are 2.21 pc special people out of the total population in India. The next Census will be the first digital Census. The exact number of special people will be known. It will help in planning welfare schemes for them. Technology and artificial intelligence will make their lives easy.”
