Pune: Grand Response to the First ISKO All India Karate Championship

Pune: The Ichiban Shito-Ryu Karate-Do Organization India successfully organized the Padma Shri Murlikant Petkar All India Karate Championship on January 25 and 26, 2025, at Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi, Pune. This prestigious event saw participation from seven states and ten districts, with a total of 975 athletes competing.

The championship was inaugurated by Corporator Rahul Dada Kalate, along with other esteemed dignitaries, including Sarpanch of Hinjewadi Sagar Bhau Sakhare, Ashok Damaryawar (Secretary of Sports and Youth Services, Maharashtra Olympic Association General Secretary), Shri Namdev Shirgaonkar, Shri Suhas Patil (Deputy Director, Sports University), Hanshi Rajnish Chaudhary (North India President, Karate India Organization), Salauddin Ansari (President, Karate-Do Association of Maharashtra), and Shihan Sandeep Gade (General Secretary, Karate-Do Association of Maharashtra).

The event was officiated by WKF A-Grade Referee Hanshi Paramjit Singh, and other key officials such as Prasanna Kulkarni (Sarthiya Foundation Sports Officer), Swami Sir (Sports Officer), and Shihan Ravindra Suryavanshi (General Secretary, Karate-Do Association of Pimpri-Chinchwad).

The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Rakesh Bhau Bharane (Action Committee President – Maan Village), Balasaheb Bendre (Proprietor, Vitthal Lawns), Vinod Bhau Salunkhe (Vice President, Khadakwasla Constituency), Navnath Parkhi (State Secretary, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Maharashtra), Vijay Anna Bhosale (Member, Maan Village), Mayur Bhau Sakhare (Member, Hinjewadi Gram Panchayat), and several other community leaders and social workers.

The primary organizers of this grand event included ISKO India Head Shihan Ashok Vetal, ISKO India General Secretary Shihan Palash Bora, ISKO India Vice President Sensei Kishan Dhanawade, and core team members Mukund Marathe , Arun Pawar, Sanjay Salunkhe, Shivtej Sawant, Tej Pratap Paswan, Vishwatej Sawant, Santosh Mane, Sachin Patil, Bharat Kanade, Mansi Kanade, Santosh Naik Navare, Bharat Sakat, Shivraj Jejuri, and Mahesh Bhopte.

This event was a remarkable success, witnessing enthusiastic participation and commendable sportsmanship from karate athletes across India.
