Pune : Gunshot Fired at Shiv Sena Youth Leader Nilesh Ghare’s Car in Pune; Police Begin Investigation
Pune : Late Monday night, a shocking incident occurred in Pune when two unidentified men on a motorcycle opened fire at a car belonging to Nilesh Ghare, the youth wing head of the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena in Pune. The incident took place near his public relations office in the Warje area, just minutes after Ghare had exited the vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
According to police, the incident happened around 11:30 PM in the Ganpati Matha area. “Ghare arrived at his office and stepped out of his car. Shortly after, two men on a bike approached, and one of them fired at the parked vehicle before fleeing the scene,” said an officer from Warje Malwadi Police Station.
The gunshot drew attention from locals and Ghare’s staff, who immediately alerted the police. Teams from Warje police and the Crime Branch rushed to the spot and began an investigation. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being reviewed for clues.
Ghare has named a person he suspects might be involved, and police are exploring that angle. Forensic experts have collected evidence from the scene, and efforts are underway to identify the weapon used.
Senior Pune police officials visited the spot and are recording statements from locals. Authorities are also considering multiple possible motives behind the attack as the investigation continues.
