Pune: Hadapsar Man Arrested for Stockpiling and Selling of Mephentermine Sulphate Injection for Intoxication

After the police learnt about the widespread use of Mephentermine Sulphate Injection, which is generally used after low blood pressure, for intoxication, police immediately started an investigation into the case and arrested a person who was stockpiling these injections and selling them illegally.
The arrested accused has been identified as Omkar Angad Binawade (age 21, a resident of Pragati Nagar, Kalepadal Road, Hadapsar). Police seized a total of 39 bottles of mephentermine sulphate injection from him, whose total marketed value stands near 25,000 rupees. Police informed that Binawade was selling each injection bottle for 600 to 700 rupees.
Police Sub-Inspector Mahesh Kavle, Police Ammaldar Deepak Kamble, Nilesh Kirve, and Abhijit Raut arrested Omkar Binawade on the tip-off received by Assistant Police Inspector Arjun Kudale of Hadapsar Police Station.
Police informed that the accused, Omkar Binawade, does not have any license to sell medicine, and he has not taken any formal education in this regard. This drug is a mixture of chemicals, and if used without a doctor’s advice and if injected into a person, its toxic substances can cause serious harm to the health of the person. In spite of knowing it, police found that Binawade illegally possessed this drug and sold it with the intention of intoxication.
Therefore, the police arrested Omkar Binawade and seized all the drugs from him.
This action was taken by the team of Assistant Police Inspector Arjun Kudale, Police Sub-Inspector Mahesh Kavle, Police Ammaldar Sandeep Rathod, Jotiba Pawar, Sameer Pandule, Sachin Jadhav, Deepak Kamble, Nilesh Kirve, Prashant Dudhal, Nikhil Pawar, Bhagwan Hambarde, Ajit Madane, Chandrakant Rejitwad, Atul Pandharkar, Amit Sakhre, Amol Danake, Kundlik Keskar, Tukaram Zunjar, and Abhijit Raut.
In this, the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police R Raja, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ashwini Rakh, Senior Police Inspector Santosh Pandhare, and Police Inspector Nilesh Jagdale also proved useful.
