Pune: Crime in the city is on the rise, with incidents of murder, gang clashes, robberies and vehicle vandalism increasing steadily. Police appear unable to curb this growing lawlessness. In the latest incident near JSPM College in Narhe, three youths arrived on a motorcycle late at night and attacked parked cars with rods and stones, shattering their windows before fleeing. The entire act was captured on CCTV.
Sinhagad Road Police have collected CCTV footage and begun investigation. The video shows the accused openly vandalising vehicles without covering their faces. Over the past few weeks, Narhe has seen a spike in thefts, assaults and vehicle damage, leaving residents distressed. With numerous colleges, coaching centres and hostels in the area, citizens are increasingly worried about nighttime safety.
Locals are demanding enhanced patrolling and upgraded CCTV systems. Police have registered a case against unidentified individuals and initiated technical analysis to track their movements. The recurring incidents have raised serious concerns about Pune’s law-and-order situation, with citizens urging immediate arrests and strict action.
