Pune: Hoel Local Bar sealed in Mundhwa, Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar warns all bars, restaurants

Pune: The police sealed a hotel in Mundhwa, Local Bar, following a brawl between two groups. Three youths were injured in the incident. Law and order were cited as the reason behind the police action.

Commissioner of Police (CP) Amitesh Kumar has sent a message to all bars, restaurants and hotels through this action. Local Bar is located in Kapila Matrix building on ABC Road in Mundhwa.

Policeman Deepak Uttamrao Kadam lodged a complaint in this connection. Rahul Kamlesh Kumar Jaiswar, Rohit Kamlesh Kumar Jaiswar and Ritik Suresh Utda, all residents of Mumbai, and Nitesh Sharma, resident of Viman Nagar, have been booked in this connection.

According to the police, Rahul, Rohit and Ritik were injured in the brawl that took place at Hotel Local Bar. They approached the Mundhwa police Station, where they were given a list for medical check-up and were told to visit Sassoon Hospital.

They did not come back to the police station to lodge a complaint. A video clip of the brawl went viral on social media. None of the two groups lodged a police complaint. So, the police visited the Local Bar and inquired about the fight. They checked the CCTV footage. They came to know that 5-6 youths had an argument over video-recording, which led to fisticuffs. The police booked both groups for violating law and order.

The State Excise Department was alerted immediately about the incident. DCP Dr Rajkumar Shinde initiated the process to cancel the food licence of the hotel

CP Kumar issued a warning to all hotel/bar owners located between ABC Chowk and Tadigutta Chowk that if such brawls took place on their premises causing law and order situation, then their licences would be cancelled.

Under the guidance of CP Amitesh Kumar and as instructed by DCP Dr Rajkumar Shinde, Sr PI Nilkanth Jagtap was investigating the case.
