Pune International Dance Festival on March 8-9

Pune: Indira University’s School of Liberal Arts, Infosys Foundation, and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan have jointly organized the two-day Pune International Dance Festival on March 8 and 9. The festival will showcase performances across various dance forms, including classical, semi-classical, folk, and contemporary styles.
The festival will be inaugurated on March 8 at 11 AM at Dhruv Auditorium (Indira University Campus, Tathawade). Dance performances will take place between 11 AM to 1 PM and 5 PM to 8 PM. On March 9, performances will be held from 10 AM to 1 PM and again from 4:30 PM to 8 PM at Sardar Natu Auditorium (Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Senapati Bapat Road). The festival is free and open to all. This information was shared through a press release by festival convener Rasika Gumaste, coordinator Suvarna Bagh, and organizing committee members Neha Muthiyan, Asmita Thakur, and Shama Adhikari.
The inaugural event on March 8 at 11 AM will be graced by eminent dance gurus such as Dr. Sucheta Chapekar, Shama Bhate, Dr. Nandkishor Kapote, along with Dr. Tarita Shankar (Founder-President, Indira Group of Institutes), Dr. Pandit Mali (CEO), Dr. Anand Jumale (Principal, Indira College of Arts, Commerce, and Science), and Prof. Renu Garg (Director, Indira School of Communication).
On March 9, senior dance guru Manisha Sathe and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s director Nandkumar Kakirde will be present for the performances.
From India International Dance Festival to Pune International Dance Festival
For the past six years, Rasika Gumaste, Neha Muthiyan, Asmita Thakur, and Shama Adhikari have successfully organized the India International Dance Festival in Pune, providing a platform for young artists and specially-abled performers. From this year onwards, the festival will be known as Pune International Dance Festival, bringing an exciting experience to Pune residents. The event will take place across Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.
The festival’s motto is “Dance Sans Division” emphasizing that dance unites people without any discrimination or segregation.
