Pune: Jilted lover kidnaps, murders lover’s son to teach her husband a lesson, kills himself
Pune: A minor boy’s murder came to light 15 days after he was kidnapped by his mother’s lover. The 12-year-old boy was kidnapped from Nirgudsar in Ambegaon taluka and was later killed to teach her husband a lesson and to make her withdraw a rape complaint lodged against him.
The incident took place from December 11 to December 24. The victim, Aryan Vikram Chavan’s body was found in the Rajapur area near Sangamner in a dry well on Tuesday.
Later, accused Rajesh Rohidas Jambukar died by suicide by hanging himself at his residence. According to the details, Jambukar kidnapped Aryan, a Std V student, from the latter’s native Nirgudsar. His father lodged a complaint of kidnapping at the Pargaon Karkhana Police Station. Jambukar could not be traced. The police were searching for him.
Jambukar ended his life at his native Dholewadi at around 9 am on December 24. However, Aryan could not be found. The Pargaon Police were investigating the case and found the boy’s body in the Rajpur area in the taluka.
While checking CCTV footage, the police saw the accused and the victim eating snacks in a restaurant around 4 pm on December 11. The police then intensified their search in the Rajapur area. On the basis of some leads and the CCTV footage, the police found the victim. Preliminary investigation suggested that Aryan was killed by the accused. Jambukar left a suicide note before killing himself, which the police were examining.
