Pune: Kondhwa Police Foil Petrol Pump Robbery; Arrest Notorious Gang

Pune: In a notable operation, the Kondhwa Police have successfully apprehended a gang plotting to rob a petrol pump in Pisoli.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Avinash Dhanaji Shinde (age 32, a resident of Yewalewadi), Rohit Raju Chaudhari (age 24, a resident of Yewalewadi), Akash Kishor Chaudhari (age 29, a resident of Holkarwadi, Shewalwadi), Vishal Kishor Chaudhari (age 27, a resident of Yewalewadi), and Abhijit Kishor Chaudhari (age 23, a resident of Devachi Uruli). All of them are repeat offenders with extensive criminal records.
Notably, the leader of the gang, Avinash Shinde, has a history of 13 serious offenses, including attempted murder, extortion, and robbery preparation. His accomplices also have records of attempted murder and forced theft.
In this case, the Police Constable Vishal Memane filed a complaint at Kondhwa Police Station. On the night of August 23, while on patrol, the Kondhwa police received intelligence about a group of criminals assembling behind the Dharmawat petrol pump in Pisoli, preparing for a robbery.
The police then swiftly encircled the area and apprehended the suspects. The police then seized items including an iron sword, chili powder, and two motorcycles, with a total value of Rs 91,500 from them. During questioning, the suspects confessed that they intended to rob the petrol pump.
Sub-Inspector Digole is now investigating the case.
