Amol Balwadkar says, “The traditional month of Shravan is underway. Therefore, the Amol Balwadkar Foundation is conducting various annual programmes. Thousands of women participated in the Mangalagaur function, Raksha Bandhan programme and the Theatre Festival, which lasted for three days and received a huge response from citizens. I have registered local women’s names for the Ladki Bahin Yojana by going from door to door. I am happy to announce that over 10,000 applications were filled under the scheme in the Kothrud Assembly segment. This could be possible due to our visits to their homes. They have already got the first two instalments.

“Krishna Janmashtami and Dahi-Handi celebrations will be held on August 27. I invite all for the celebrations. I feel encouraged as all of you participate enthusiastically in all the programmes organised by the Amol Balwadkar Foundation. I feel grateful from the bottom of my heart for the shower of love by you all. Please, bless me like this forever. Huge crowds at the Amol Balwadkar Foundation programmes have become the talk of the town. That is why I am speaking to you through this video clip.

“I am happy to share that the media has taken note of public welfare programmes that I have been carrying out for the past 10 years in the Baner, Balewadi, Pashan, Kothrud, Sutarwadi, Mahalunge and Sus areas. I am thankful to all journalists for covering my programmes. I would like to state with all humility, irrespective of this being an election year, Amol Balwadkar likes to serve the people throughout the year. It is not in my genes to work only once in five years. Amol Balwadkar is always present, where welfare work for the people is being carried out all along the year.”

“Amol Balwadkar stands on the streets to monitor traffic, in times of congestion. Amol Balwadkar’s wardens are deployed at every chowk. Amol Balwadkar agitates against the administration to raise traffic issues. Amol Balwadkar stays awake at odd hours till 2-3 am for 15 days consecutively at the water tank in the Chandni Chowk area to ensure that every home gets water supply. When housing societies get flooded during the rainy season, Amol Balwadkar rushes, along with his team of 25 people, to pump out flood water or to prevent it from gushing into society premises. Amol Balwadkar arranges JCBs, water tankers, generators during such crises.

“You all know that dengue and chikungunya are spreading fast in the city. There is at least one patient in every house. You may not come across civic workers anywhere but Amol Balwadkar and his team can be seen at many places fumigating areas with cold liquid fog. Fumigation has been done in hundreds of societies and colonies. It is all due to my contact with the people.

“There is no point in relating my cultural initiatives and welfare programmes with the elections. Amol Balwadkar supports the people 24X7 in their grief and joy. I am aware that the State Assembly election is around the corner. I am a loyal worker of the BJP. I have done good work in the Pune Municipal Corporation as the Chairman of the City Improvement Committee. In this background, it is possible that my foundation’s work will be related to the election. People ask if Amol Balwadkar would contest the poll. A hush-hush campaign is underway saying I may rebel.

“Thousands of Kothrud residents are insisting that ‘Amol Bhaiya, we have decided that we want you to contest the election. We will vote for you. Our society will vote for you’. But I would like to state humbly that I am a BJP worker. I follow the ideal of the RSS: ‘Nation first’. The saffron flag is my guide. My party never considers the family background, caste, religion, economic status and dynasty. That is why, a child who sells tea on railway platforms becomes the Prime Minister of the country. A woman from a very poor tribal family can become the President of the country. From Hon. Devendra Fadnavis to Vinod ji Tawde to Hon. Nitin Gadkari to Raosaheb Danve, hundreds of leaders are given the opportunity to serve the country at a young age in my party. It trusts the young leadership. Work counts in my party. National ideology is important here.

“There is nothing wrong in nourishing an ambition while working in the field of politics. I am sure, when the Assembly election is announced, I will get an opportunity to present my work before the party leadership. I will convey to you the decision made then. Till then and afterwards also, Amol Balwadkar will always serve residents of Kothrud. That is all I want to say at the moment.”
