Pune: Kothrud Shocked With Another Violent Incident: Individual Was Brutally Murdered with Sharp Weapons from Earlier Disputes in Shastri Nagar

Pune : While the violent attack on an IT employee in Kothrud was fresh, another distressing incident took place in the Shastri Nagar area of Kothrud, where a few individuals brutally murdered an individual by attacking him with a sword, machete, and other sharp weapons.
The deceased individual has been identified as Gaurav Avinash Thorat. In this case, the Kothrud police have detained few individuals.
Sagar Vasant Kasabe (age 47, a resident of PMC Colony, Kothrud) has lodged a complaint in this regard at Kothrud Police Station. Accordingly, the police have registered a case against Dinesh Bhalerao (age 27), Sohail Syed (age 24), Rakesh Sawant (age 24), Sahil Wakade (age 25), Bandya Nagtilak (age 18), Lakhan Shirole (age 27), and Aniket Umap (age 22).
Police informed that deceased Gaurav Thorat had an argument with the accused earlier. Enraged by the anger of that dispute, the accused targeted Thorat when he was talking with his friends near Datta temple in Shastri Nagar. When Thorat was speaking with his friends, the accused Sohail Syed and his accomplices came there, and they fired bullets towards Thorat. While Thorat narrowly escaped the gun attack, the accused immediately attacked Thorat with swords, machetes, and other sharp weapons and murdered him.
After getting the information of the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police Nikhil Pingale, Sambhaji Kadam, Assistant Commissioner of Police Bhausaheb Pathare, Ajay Parmar, Rajendra Mulik, Ganesh Ingle, Senior Police Inspector Sandeep Deshmane, and Police Inspector Vikram Singh Kadam visited the spot.
The Police seized a pistol, sword, and other weapons from the scene. Senior police inspector Sandeep Deshmane informed that some of the accused have been arrested by police in connection with the murder of Gaurav Thorat, and police are taking further action on the accused according to law.
