Pune: Lawyer Alleges Dance Bar Scandal in Maval, Faces Gunfire for Filming Evidence (Video)

Pune :
In a shocking incident, a lawyer has accused a restaurant and bar in Maval taluka of operating an illegal dance bar and even claims he was fired upon while attempting to expose the activities. This comes days after Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Lonavala Sub-Division, Satyasai Kartik, cracked down on two orchestra bars in the region.
The lawyer, identified as Adv. Manoj Satish Mane (34), a resident of Heaven Park, has filed a formal complaint with the rural police. According to his complaint, the management of Flavors Bar and Restaurant in Vadgaon Maval not only flouted closing hours but also hosted objectionable activities involving semi-nude dancers, loud music, and patrons showering money on them.
Mane stated that he was returning to Pune from the Bombay High Court around 2 a.m. on January 25 when he stopped at Flavors Bar for dinner. At that time, loud songs were playing in the hotel. 20 to 25 women were dancing half-naked to these songs. The male customers present were throwing money at them. Adv. Manoj Mane found this behaviour objectionable and started filming on his mobile phone, but the situation quickly turned hostile.
He alleged that seeing he was recording it, one of the staff members assaulted him, abused him, and tried to snatch his phone. Amid the chaos, one individual reportedly fired a bullet at Mane, prompting his friends to intervene and call the police emergency helpline.
Mane then approached the Vadgaon Maval police station to lodge a complaint. However, he claimed that the police seemed to be shielding the bar operators. While Constable Kale was writing the complaint, a female police officer, identified as Mohite, allegedly disrupted the process. She ordered Mane’s detention and reportedly expelled him from the station.
Frustrated by the inaction, Mane came to Pune and reported the matter to Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh, ASP Satyasai Kartik, and Senior Inspector Kadam of Vadgaon Maval. However, Mane alleged that Inspector Kadam has been evasive in addressing his complaint.
When contacted, ASP Satyasai Kartik confirmed that the complaint had been received. “We are investigating the matter and will take necessary action,” he said.
